In an effort to reduce the spam inundating the forums recently I have begun going through inactive registered users and banning suspicious accounts. If you feel you have been banned without justification, please send an e-mail to support@theenergydetective.com and your case will be reviewed. Thank you all for your patience as we work to clear the forums of the inconvenience of spammers. As many of you have noted; it's not terribly easy to catch them all, but we are working on it. It's been my experence that forum spam tends to come from new accounts.

That is certainly my impression, too, hence my suggestion elsewhere that the first one or two posts or replies from new users be automatically reviewed by a moderator before they become visible to all.
