I was an early purchaser of the Ted1000 and it's been rock solid since the day I bought it. I did however, want to get it wired up to the PC so I can graph my usage.
I found myself reading this thread and being lead to believe there's an upgrade to the Old 1000's that will allow for connectivity... well there isn't.
So, just for the sake of closing off this thread this is the response I got from Tech support
We have discontinued the sale of the TED1000 series hardware and software. We do maintain support for the product, but do not offer upgrades.
If your device did not come unlocked with Footprints on it you will not be able to port data to your computer. A simple firmware upgrade will not do that. It would require your sending the unit back to our office, our engineering department unlocking it, testing, and sending it back. Cost to do so exceeds the cost of a NEW TED5000 – which has Footprints embedded.
I do hope this answers your question.
Kindest regards,
TED Support
I'm really not sure why they don't just say this in the forums, or even better in an FAQ somewhere on the site that Acknowledges they once sold the TED1000...there's practically zero mention on this website that the 1000 even existed. I had to go use a search engine to find a copy of the manual hosted on another site!
I can easily accept there's no upgrades for my unit, but it would be nice if I didn't have to contact Tech support and go through a series of email exchanges to find that out. Especially when there's comments to the contrary in the forums from the staff.
