Dashboard Does Not Display In Footprints Viewer

I've recently installed Footprints 1.3.6 onto a Windows XP machine.  The machine is connected to a TED 1001 RDU via usb in the usual way.  The system seems to be working as TED Watcher is working as expected showing correct readings from the RDU.  The problem I am having is that the Dashboard does not show in the Viewer.  All that shows is a small red X in the upper left corner.

I've used this system for several years on other XP machines without problems.

This must be something simple, can someone give me some ideas as to how to get the dashboard to show?
