Changing Graph Sample size
« on: February 25, 2013, 06:29:53 PM »
Hi Folks,

I have used my TED 5000 for a few years now. Been very instrumental in becoming more aware of my power usage. i appreciate this device.

One thing that seems to pop up fairly often is the desire to use a sample size other than the one the mfr provided in the graphing pane. Ie: the mfr allows me to "select view type" to be "minute" and then "select sample size" to be "four hours".  If I wanted the next sample size, I would then have to pick "12 hours".  it would be nice to change the sample size to 8 hours or at least something between 4 and eight.

I suspect I could do this by using the raw data and using a sample size algorithm that is the same as TED, generate my own data and graph using excel or some other application.

On the other hand, it might be easy for me to alter the drop down list box and put a sample size i would like as a replacement or an additional option.  Being able to alter the calculations within the TED software makes using the feature I want just so much easier.

Any thoughts?

perhaps I am missing a point that others see but I don't?

Please share.
