Error 401 Unauthorized when accessing TED5000/api/LiveData.xml

I can access this successfully from a web browser, but when I try to use this in Excel with WEBSERVICE("http://TED5000/api/LiveData.xml") I get #VALUE returned.
When I try to use this in my VB.NET application, I get Error 401: Unauthorized.

What gives?

I disabled secure access for the time being, but would like to know how to pass credentials through a web service like this.

I know this is an old topic, but I'm sure others have had the same problem.

If you need to pass the basic authentication to get the XML files, you do so like this:

http://username:password@TED5000/api/LiveData.xml

Obviously, replace username and password with whatever you put in for authentication.

LiveData.xml? I have a Pro Home and am not aware of this call. I would love to know how to, in one call, get data about each of my three MTUs. Kind of like a pull version of what the 3rd party posting function does..

Does LiveData still exist in the latest FW? I looked through the docs and used curl to try to get it from my Pro, but got a 404.

He's using a TED5000, which is different from the Pro Home. On the Pro Home you can call /api/SystemOverview.xml?T=0&D=0&M=0 to get a readout of every MTU's current readings. It's the same XML file the Footprints dashboard calls every second or so (along with DashData.xml, but that's for the totals).
