PLC woes
« on: February 17, 2016, 12:33:50 AM »
I had a pair of TED5000 transmitters talking to one gateway fairly well
two years ago, in spite of using netgear av200 powerline networking instead of real ethernet.
Since then, I've replaced all my house lighting with LED bulbs, and moved
the transmitters.  Now communication is very spotty; the gateway only blinks
a few times after being plugged in.  (The closer to the transmitter it's plugged
in, the better it works.)

The above is with temporary connection to the power lines (the
transmitters are monitoring appliances, and aren't in my junction panel).
Tomorrow I'm going to move a transmitter into the junction panel were
/deity intended it to be, am crossing my fingers that communication will improve.
Any bets?  Have other people had trouble with all-LED lighting (eg dimmable
Cree or Philips bulbs) and/or powerline ethernet (e.g. netgear av200)?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to ditch the powerline ethernet to solve the problem.
