TED 5000 Installation Utility
« on: March 11, 2011, 06:46:12 AM »
Hello,
I was pleased to find out the TED has a new Installation Utility to facilitate the installation and the management of the TED units. I have installed TEDs with friends too.
However, ... I have 2 TED units on my LAN at 192.168.1.121:81 and *122:82
The install utility after ~30 minutes of "searching" has found nothing. What is the problem? Firmware is at: GW 1.0.383 and FP 1.0.210
I am planning to use the installation utility to upgrade to the most recent firmware and hoping to facilitate my friend's upgrades.
Thank you, Lucien.

MZake sure windows firewall is not blocking it, or if you have any other firewalls. I've seen where windows will pop up a message to let the program through the windows firewall. But for some odd reason that windows message box HIDES behind the search utility.  Lunch the program and move the window around to make sure that message is not hiding in backround.

Thanks but..
If you tell me about firewall blocking you also need to tell me how to unblock it, yea?
There is nothing hiding behind the search window.
Lucien.

Found your entry, same problem as I am having.
I unblocked the firewall for the "TED5000-installer-windows.exe" but it did not help.
FYI, here is what I did to open the firewall:
'Control Panel' > 'Windows Firewall' > go to 'Exception' tab > hit 'Add Program' button > use 'Browse' button to select "TED5000-installer-windows.exe".
You may want to use the IP addresses that you know, I don't have that type of info to try here.
Good luck.

MZake:

Please provide some details about your network configuration.  Is this in a residential or commercial/business?  Is the router a standard home grade or a professional business model?
