TED5000 Support / Gateway History Corrupted

I have three gateways that seem to be not collecting history data for 1-2 MTU channels.  In gateway #1, MTU#1 & MTU#4 are collecting history okay. When a daily export is downloaded, the dates, times, and values are correct. If I download daily history data for MTU#2 & MTU#3, the year is 2018, the time and data are all zero values.

I would rather not erase all history data if possible to see if everything will start collecting correctly but would like advice if anyone thinks this would resolve the problem.  I don't see a way to clear history for a particular MTU. 

I actually swapped out the #2 MTU with another working MTU to see if it was the MTU. Still no data is being collected.

The real time wattage values are being displayed in the dashboard so the MTU's seem to not be the problem.

I am thinking this is a gateway problem but hope it is something that can be corrected.


p.s. anyone have a thought on why the verification steps needed to post will only accept 2020 as the current year?

I had this same problem. I have 7 gateways and after a recent rate change, I could not get changes to the rates to update. I tried chrome and firefox browsers. Still no joy.
I solved the problem by firing up an old Win-XP machine that was connected to my network. I loaded footprints for each gateway one by one and going thru each of settings menus, I updated the rates and then saved them. They all updated. I am guessing it was a browser issue as I used IE browser on the WIN-XP which is not available on my Win-10 machine.

Interested if anyone finds another solution.

I don't know if these forums are still really active, but will report back just to close out the message. I did finally get it to work.

One other symptom from before the fix was that even though the clock was set to 2000, the History tab in the web interface was showing dates from 2020 and 2021.

The final fix was to:

  • Export the current TED 5000 configuration to a SystemSettings.xml file
  • Select Reset to Factory Defaults and Erase History
  • Edit SystemSettings.xml file in a text editor and update the time settings. In DateTime/UseServer, set the value to 0 to disable NTP. Update the time in the DateTime section to the current time using a 2 digit date format (ie: 21 for 2021)
  • Restore the settings from the SystemSettings.xml file
  • Edit the settings and enable NTP now that the clock is close to the current time

After going through all of this, the daily totals and projected monthly values on the Live Dashboard all look valid. In addition, while most of the values on the History tab are now 0, it did populate the data for the previous hour, so my history page looks to be correct.

Since I've lost all my history for this month, I'll need to guesstimate how much electricity I used in the electric vehicle, but I should be back to normal for March.

I recently started having trouble with historical data being shown on my TED50l0. It shows real-time data fine, but the daily/monthly summaries are all out of whack. I eventually noticed the clock was set to Jan 1, 2000. Several posts say the battery would fix this issue. Sure enough, the old battery read 0.05 Volts.

I soldered a battery holder onto the circuit board, but even with that, I canít get the clock date to be set correctly. I disabled NTP for now and am just manually setting the clock. Is there some sort of sunset date in the TED firmware? I even tried setting the date to 2001-02-27, but that also seemed to fail. At least my clock is counting up now, but I canít seem to get the date set correctly.

Am I fighting a losing battle trying to keep the old system running? Just curious if these are still working for others and if I should keep working on it or consider replacing it with a different system.

Can you go directly to the ip address that is on your network?  I've never used the shortcut (and testing it just now the page will not load)

I have a set up that has been running for about 4 years.  Nothing has changed in the panel or my setup.  About a week ago, one of my MTU's stopped providing data to the TEDPRO6000  I've opened the panel and unplugged the unit.  It doesn't come back online.  The LED's on the unit and the spiders are lit. On the MTU the led after a few seconds just blinks lightly.  No solid LED on the MTU, The spiders have their BLUE leds all lit, and blinking.

Before I start resetting the app and trying to remember how to configure the Spider.  What else can I try to bring the unit back online?

I noticed that sometimes the remote display goes blank, started late last year.

Recently I started to use 'ping' to monitor TED, and noticed the gateway sporadically stops responding.   The statistics page bears this out, shows uptime on the MTU is 4670752 but the uptime at the bottom of the page is 625 seconds.

Is this a known issue?

Hi -

1.  this URL no longer works for me to check my TED5000

2.  I've always had problems with where to plug my gateway in so that the powerline communication worked properly.  I had been focused on using the ethernet connection (I often have wifi turned off at my house).  Recently I plugged in the gateway without the ethernet cord and the readout worked fine on the TED small screen.  Is this the setup that I am supposed to be using (no ethernet to the ted 5000 gateway?).

Do you have any programming skills?  If you can't talk the TED folks into doing this, you could probably do it yourself if you have some programming skills.  I just did a Google search and it looks possible for individuals to do this.  There are Youtube videos showing how to get started.

Thanks, sorry to take so long to reply.  No, I definitely do not have programming skills.  It is part of my career over the last 20-30 years that I have shouted out a few ideas for others, so I"m thinking this is one of them.  At most, when I had time and wanted to make something happen on one of my ideas, I hired a programmer.
